Yes! Hairdryers often generate too much heat, which can damage hair overtime. You may want to let your hair dry indoors or in the shade as opposed to in the sun, however, as too much sunlight can also damage your hair.
Of course, if none of these treatments work, it’s not all bad news: Dr. McKee noted that balding men actually have higher dihydrotestosterone (a hormone formed from testosterone) levels than men who are not balding. So, feel free to take balding as a sign of manliness.
Laser treatments are the latest frontier in staving off hair loss, and they’ll be the first choice for fans of sci-fi. As silly as they may sound, these treatments do work — the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology in 2014 reported a “statistically significant difference” in hair density with no “serious adverse events” or side effects. The bad news: Laser treatments tend to be expensive, progress is slow, and they don’t always produce stellar results.
While this may require a bit of time, massaging hot oils into your scalp once or twice a week will make your hair healthier, longer and thicker. Additionally, massaging your head will increase blood circulation around the scalp, making your hair grow faster. You can purchase hot oils in store, while you can also use homemade oil remedies like coconut oils and Moroccan oils.
Try using Argon Oil products. After washing your hair, add the Argon oil conditioner, the use the coconut oil for all types of uses. The coconut oil is making my hair grow so much. You don’t need a lot, just apply at lease twice per week. Also, I use to take the Biotin pills, which is truly great for your hair and nails. You will not see instant results, so do it and look for results 6 months down the road.

Exactly how much time depends on genetics. On average each strand grows about a half inch in a month. But hair doesn’t grow like that nonstop; it grows in cycles. At any given moment, about 85 percent of follicles are in the anagen (growing) phase. The rest of the follicles are in either the catagen (transitioning) phase or the telogen (resting) phase. For some lucky individuals, the growing phase lasts as long as seven years; for others, it’s as little as two. At the end of this stage, the strand falls out, and its follicle remains dormant and hairless for about three months. After that a sprig of hair finally sprouts, and the growth process starts again. “If your hair never gets past your shoulders, chances are, you have a shorter anagen cycle than others do,” says Francesca Fusco, a dermatologist in New York City.
Hi Vinita, yes hair specialists do say you shouldn’t wash every day but everyone is different. Some days I do wash my hair every day butI try to cut it down to every other day. I would suggest using the oil on days when you want to wash your hair the next morning, and simply omit the oil on days when you do not want to wash your hair. You can do the inversion method without oil too – I hope that helps 🙂
Rogaine’s foam squirts out just like hair mousse and is applied with “cool, dry hands.” Applying means working the foam down to the scalp where you want to see thicker growth — for it to work, “it has to get into your scalp,” Dr. Wolfeld explains. “If it sits on your hair, it’s not really as effective.” Once massaged, it dissolves into a watery liquid that leaves a tingly sensation, “but no burning!” one of our balding testers was happy to discover.
