After I had become overweight, about a year ago, i started trying to eat healthier and excersise. I lost probably around 46 lbs, and I was actually in pretty good shape. However, I felt like I was too bulky in thr muscles, so I lowered my protien intake to try and shake some of it off, which I did, and now I look a little too skinny- putting my total weight loss at 50+ lbs or so. MY POOR THICK BEAUTIFUL HAIR IS HALF GONE! during my weight loss I used hardwater, blow dried, and straightendd my hair- it’s awful what can happen when your not careful. I’m starting high school now with my now “normal” hair instead of my old “thick hair” which I’d do anything to get back. Thanks for the article !! What would be some good recommendations for me? (I’m also like 95% vegitarian)

But is such a cure actually even possible? And if so, just how far from it are we?
In the 1980’s, Rogaine was the first brand to patent topical minoxidil as a hair regrowth treatment. After their patent expired in the 90’s, many new generic minoxidil brands began appearing on the market, finally plummeting the price down. Rogaine is a ‘well-tried’ and trusted minoxidil brand.

Some physicians make their own treatments for pattern baldness by mixing tretinoin (Retin-A or Renova) with minoxidil. Tretinoin is often prescribed as an acne treatment, but studies suggest it increases the effect of minoxidil by 10 percent. This type of hair-loss therapy is only available with a prescription.

2. It can stop progressive hair loss. – The thing about hair loss is that it can be progressive. And when it remains untreated, it would mean that hair loss would worsen. But unlike other hair treatments that only target growing new hair, hair regeneration reverses such progressive hair loss.
