My question would be, I am on the right track or is it overkill? I’ve read that using too much stuff (solutions or shampoo) maybe detrimental to keeping your hair. I know 6 month might be a little time but I still don’t see noticeable results and I’m afraid I might be doing something wrong or worsening the situation, even though I don’t have worse hair loss than before.

Having gone through countless shampoos and conditioners, oils and other bizarre baldness treatments only to see the enemy advance further each year, I am on the verge of just ripping my thinning hair out — and scientists are now saying that could be how to keep my remaining hair.

It’s hard to believe, but most companies slap on a label that says ‘Hair Growth Formula’, often without even mentioning how much of each ingredient is in each pill or without actually including the amount they claim.

Contrary to popular belief, notes Kingsley, genetic hair loss probably isn’t tied to your mother’s father. “The latest research indicates girls follow mother’s father, boys follow father’s father,” says Kingsley. “But most likely, it is an assortment from both.”

Like with mousse, those with skimpy strands often avoid using conditioner because they believe it’s too dense and heavy. And while this may be true of some ultra-moisturizing conditioners, Samy’s “0” Calories Thickening Conditioner is specially formulated to be completely weightless, and features a blend of natural proteins that work to penetrate hair strands and increase their diameter.

To try this remedy, cut a few slices of onion and squeeze out its juice (either by mashing it or grating it) and apply it on your scalp for about 10-15 minutes. Let it work its magic and then rinse it off with a mild shampoo.

Besides, with Nizoral A-D you get the added benefit of a strong dandruff fighting shampoo. And you know how dandruff is: an unwanted visitor that shows up on your clothes at the worst possible moments (not that there’s ever a good moment to get dandruff).

Apart from using various natural ingredients for treating hair loss or baldness, some exercise can also help in promoting hair growth. Just rub fingernails of your left and right hand with each other. This is one of the most cost-effective remedies for baldness.

So please suggest and guide me mam apart from hair rinse over my scalp that I do every alternate day as per your sayings if there is any solution for edges of hair that won’t make it dry and will rather make it thicker smoother and longer in volume.

We’ve already talked at length about the role of Biotin in treating hair loss. It’s worth repeating, however, that Biotin supports the growth of cells and the production of fatty acids which, in turn, can increase the size of hair follicles). It not only helps slow the rate of hair loss while re-generating hair growth, but your hair will also look fuller and thicker. A biotin deficiency, meanwhile, contributes to hair loss and brittle nails.

I’m so excited to try your hair growth suggestions! I’m 58 years old and have fine, thin hair. This is definitely, inherited. During the first ten days, some of the transplanted hairs, inevitably traumatized by their relocation, may fall out. This is referred to as “shock loss”. After two to three months new hair will begin to grow from the moved follicles. The patient’s hair will grow normally, and continue to thicken through the next six to nine months. Any subsequent hair loss is likely to be only from untreated areas. Some patients elect to use medications to retard such loss, while others plan a subsequent transplant procedure to deal with this eventuality.

There is an endless argument whether herbs are really good and effective at treating and stopping baldness. Based on my personal experience, herbal remedies are one of the best treatments available. To get the best results, you will have to take herbal supplements that come in the form of capsules or pills.

I’m 18 and just recently moved away from home for college about two months ago. Since then, I’ve realised the amount of hair loss i have each day is a lot as compared to last time. I’ve only dyed my hair twice. Once was last November and the second time was 2 and a half months ago and both times were only dip dyes. The colour/bleach in no way touched my scalp but could this be the reason I’m losing hair? My hair doesn’t exactly come out when I comb or brush it but it usually comes off by itself. My hair used to be really thick to the point where i had to get it layered since it was too hot and too bulky but nowadays, I felt like my hair’s way flatter. My roommate tried to convince me that it’s normal loose up to 100 hairs per day but just last night after shower, I noticed at least more than 20 loose strands as I was leaving it to dry.

Just breathe—seriously, it could help! Both sudden and chronic stress can halt hair growth. If you’ve been through a challenging experience (divorce, job change), hair should grow back. If you’re under constant pressure, master meditation—easier said than done, but your hair will thank you. (Find the meditation style that matches your personality, here.)

Natural hair loss is mainly a result of genetics and changes in hormone levels. Additional causes can be health issues, such as thyroid problems, reactions to medical treatments such as chemotherapy, the side effects of medications that include steroids, serious illness, auto-immune disorders, pregnancy, unusually high levels of stress, and malnutrition. There are hair supplements like Reloxe a natural hair regrowth supplement which you can use.

You can get away with using it only where your hair has receded, but I would apply it all over my scalp to help prevent further recession. If you experience side effects talk to your doctor. But keep in mind they may well be just psychological.

I believe in treating the root cause. So if you have telogen effluvium, you need to find out what has caused it – so what stressful event was the trigger. And then try and take measures to correct that.

  1. Countless supplement manufacturers have been crawling out of the woodwork to create their ‘version’ of a hair growth supplement, with wild claims as to its actual benefits. As each new company bursts into the market with their own ‘proprietary formula’, it becomes harder to separate fact from fiction, premium product from worthless imitation.
Anemia, insulin resistance, thyroid problems, an autoimmune disease like alopecia areata, and stress can all cause hair loss. It may even signal what’s known in Chinese medicine as a kidney yin and blood deficiency.
