Many men shy away from taking finasteride, however, because of the possibility of sexual side effects, including loss of libido. And, more recently, studies have shown that those side effects may persist after discontinuation of the medicine.
Speaking of a new style: Don’t choose one that’s so high maintenance that it needs to be heat styled daily—the damage you’ll do with too much hot tool usage can leave strands damaged and fried, and breaking before it can grow to a certain length. Plus, thinner hair tends to break easier, so you want to avoid any extra damage-inducing practices at all costs. Make a conscious effort, too, to brush more gently, and use a moisturizing and reparative hair mask to hydrate hair and nourish the scalp—where hair gets most of its strength.
Results can take awhile to become apparent, so it’s important to be patient and follow the regimen exactly. It is best to begin using these products at the first signs of balding or hair thinning for the best results. Drinking more water, eating a balanced diet, taking a daily multivitamin, and taking advantage of additional supplements like Biotin can also help speed up hair regrowth.
For a heads up, professional athlete LeBron James and world class, golf player Tiger Woods also has been reported to have used this therapy after their hair loss although the report is still to be proven.
Hair health depends a lot on person’s diet. In most of the cases, hair loss is triggered by improper diet. Generally, people under-nourish themselves when it comes to eating. They do not care about proper balance of nutrients in their diet. People with a tendency to lose hair should take a well-balanced and complete diet. According to experts, a diet containing good quantities of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits can provide adequate amounts of all the vital nutrients required for good hair growth. Also, foods like milk, vegetable oils, honey, wheat germ, yeast, liver, etc. also prove to be really good for hair growth.

This study claims laser therapy does have some sort of effect, but I’ve never found any people who swear by it, like for minoxidil, finasteride, and keto. I wouldn’t waste my money on it. To be honest with you, I’m on minox, fin and keto for about 3 years now and still experience sheds every once in a while. I wouldn’t worry about it. While my hair is shedding my hairline is staying intact. How often do you use the keto shampoo?
Saw palmetto is a plant with small berries that’s often used as part of a treatment plan for an enlarged prostate. While research is narrow on saw palmetto’s ability to treat hair loss, one study showed positive results for men treated with a topical formulation.

More hair in your brush may not be the beginning of the end for your tresses. Roberts says there are times when some extra hair loss is normal — for women, that includes during menopause and after pregnancy.
Itchy scalp may be a symptom of a scalp disease that could produce hair loss. Causes may include seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) and psoriasis. The problem is PRP isn’t available at many clinics. The doctors offering this treatment are relatively small. However, this year the treatment can become a widespread adoption at many medical centers.
Many users have found that they can achieve results with this product, even when other hair regrowth treatments have failed. That’s because Lipogaine includes effective clinically proven ingredients that most other treatments do not. Simply use the dropper to apply no more than 1 mL to the hair thinning area twice daily. This can be used together with other hair regrowth treatments for faster results. As is the case with any Minoxidil product (such as Rogaine), the effects will only last as long as you use the product. This product is backed by unmatched customer loyalty and five years of positive customer reviews.
What worked for me was doing nothing about losing my hair and just letting nature take its course. My hair started receding in my early 20s, but only a little, then it stopped for about 30 years. Then in my early 50s my hair started receding and thinning very rapidly again. I panicked until my wife told me she loves bald men and had been wishing I would go bald. She talked me into just letting myself go bald. In less than two years I went from norwood 2 or 3 to norwood 6. I don’t regret my decision to go bald and have no desire to regrow my hair. My wife and I really enjoyed watching my hair recede and thin away. I love being bald and you couldn’t pay me to regrow my hair. In retrospect, I wish I had kept on balding in my 20s all the way to norwood 7.
ReGrow Plus is a liquid product that is added to water or juice each day and ingested. The product is intended to regrow hair via better blood circulation, improving hormonal balance, and a healthier immune system. While ReGrow Plus addresses some causes of hair loss it doesn’t address DHT levels which is the leading cause of hair loss.
Regaine and Lipogaine were the same price on Ebay so I got the latter. If it works I might continue for a few months. I hope my hair doesn´t start falling / stop growing after I stop using these products….Thanks one more time ?
People inherit baldness through their mother’s male relatives. Actually, baldness is determined by genes from both the mother and the father. Looking at one’s family can give someone at best an educated guess about how he or she will turn out. Studies are ongoing in this field, and current research has been inconclusive about the inheritance patterns.
I agree everyone should at least try Finasteride to see if they experience side effects, personally I tried it and it gave me side effects even taking 1/4th of a pill, I also tried avodart and wow that REALLY gave me side effects, it gave me retrograde ejaculation, some ppl are just sensitive to androgen suppressors, if you are then your best bet is to stay away from anything that suppresses your androgens, your hair loss may suffer from this though. Currently I’m on lipogaine and Nizoral, I throw in Emu Oil too, I’m going to give the dermaroller a chance. You can still fight hairloss without Finasteride, give it a chance if you experience sides come off of it immediately, weigh the pros and cons, obviously my sex life is more important than hair so I chose to come off of it, but not everyone will experience side effects like I did.
These are all combined in a single formula to lower DHT production without meddling with testosterone. They are also essential to maintain a shiny and healthy head of hair. Slow hair growth and breakage may happen once you lack these nutrients.
In February, though, Ms. Telford, 46, flew from her home in London, Ontario, to Sarasota, Fla., for a new $1,400 hourlong treatment known as platelet rich plasma (P.R.P.), which is said to stimulate dormant hair follicles. The procedure involves drawing blood, spinning it in a centrifuge to extract the plasma, adding various nutrients (like more protein), then injecting the resulting mixture in one-inch intervals in a grid on the top of the scalp, which has been numbed with a local anesthetic.
Try other home remedies. There are numerous other home or natural remedies you can try. However, keep in mind that these are not scientifically proven methods and might not work. Always consult your doctor if you have doubts about a home remedy.
What is your opinion on laser combs? I went to the Men’s Club yesterday and they recommended I spend ~$800 to buy a laser band, comb or hat. What is your opinion on how those work? Sounds like snake oil to me. They also recommended I go to my dermatologist to get a prescription to reduce sebum in my hair. I have been on Fin for 11 months, Minox foam 1x/day yet hair shed hasn’t stopped. I do have a prescription for Ketoconazole shampoo but rarely use it. I read in your article that this shampoo does help with Sebum build up so I will try that. Any other recommendations for sebum reduction?

Cimetidine has been used to treat hirsuitism in women (excess facial hair growth) and has been studied in women with androgenic alopecia showing promising results. Because of the high doses needed to achieve it’s hair raising results, men should not take cimettidine to treat their hair loss due to possible feminizing effects including adverse sexual side effects.
I was using it and noticed my hair getting thicker after a few weeks. I wound up eventually stopping use. After awhile, my hair was coming out again, so I am back using it once again. It definitely does work, and I will keep using it. The only down side is, I think it fades my hair color a bit….
Hi while it is not uncommon for excessive shedding to occur after giving birth , it usually self corrects after a few months. However some women do continue to shed and there are several reasons that this may have happened in your case. First off studies shoe that women density and diameter begin to change in our mid 30’s which is about the time peri- menopause can start leading to shifts in normal balance and just like skin, our hair can start ageing and over time lose density. On top of that stress, diet and lack of certain vitamin can contribute, low vitamin D, B’s, iron and zinc have an effect.Even declining thyroid while not hypothyroid yet it still can affect our bodies.
