Finally, there’s surgery. What we used to call “hair plugs” are now described as “hair transplantation.” Gone are the days when the surgery resulted in clumps of what looked like doll hair sticking out of the front of your head. Now hairs are moved individually from the back of your head to the areas that need them.
According to practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine, hair health is tied to two things: kidney energy and the blood, which nourish the hair. The solution: acupuncture and Chinese herbs. While there isn’t a lot of hard science to back this up, Maureen Conant, a TCM practitioner at Full Bloom Acupuncture in Seattle, says that she’s seen women’s hair stop falling out and then gradually regenerate after a few months of weekly treatments. (Here are six more reasons to give acupuncture a try.)
No matter what hair type you have, organic and natural products works for everybody. Lets start with African-American hair; this hair type is often flat and twisted. African-American hair has the lowest water absorption level and the lowest tensile strength. This means that African-American hair needs more moisture than any other hair type, and putting tension on the hair will surely cause hair breakage, which will lead to hair loss. Next is Asian hair; this hair type is almost circular. Asian hair may absorb an average amount of water but has the strongest tensile strength. Caucasian hair, on the other hand, absorbs the most amount of water but isn’t as strong. Finally, we have the mixed race hair, which may be any combination of the hair types.
I’ve been using the products now for three months and I’m still happy with my continued results. In the newer photo there’s a noticeable difference. I had my highlights done just before i started using this so you can even see how much my existing hair has grown since then. Remember, hair grows slowly. This isn’t an over night fix but if you are patient you should see results. I would also recommend taking photos of the process. Sometimes I didn’t realize how much had changed until I looked at the photos.
Your hair got thinner but did you hairline recede further? Shedding for 10 months is a bit over average. If I remember correctly my hair shredded for about 8 months and has gotten thinner before thicker again. Even after 3 years now basically I’m slowly still regrowing hair I’ve lost.

While you use the Ultrax Labs shampoo, it can help fight dandruff, too. No matter why you wash with it, massage it in and leave it on your hair from 2 to 5 minutes before rinsing for best results. The manufacturer also recommends using it at least 5 times per week.
You can’t always prevent your hair from falling out as you age, but there are treatments and remedies that might slow down the process. Before you go out and buy supplements and special tonics, learn which ones have shown some promise in preventing or treating hair loss.
Side effects associated with finasteride include chills; cold sweats; confusion; dizziness; hives; swelling in the legs, arms and face; tingling; erectile dysfunction; decreased libido; and ejaculatory dysfunction; and weight gain.
That being said I would recommend getting blood tests on your hormone levels, vitamin D levels and iron ( ferritin ). In the mean time our women’s vitality supplements with horsetail extract may be helpful as it gives you a balance of vitamins & nutrients and helps support healthy hair. Add in extra Vitamin D and Omega 3’s and topically our Bos Revive Kit will help give you thicker fuller hair while helping support growth by bathing the scalp in nutrients. Lastly be patient as it can take several months to see changes
If you are experiencing hair loss, you’re not alone! A large percentage of both men and women have androgenetic alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss, hair thinning, and receding hairlines. Known in men as “male-pattern baldness” and in women as “female-pattern baldness,” the condition is so widespread that the hair restoration industry is worth $3.5 billion dollars per year. Because there are so many products on the market, it can be difficult to know which one will be right for you.

“Two-thirds of men do get acceptable hair growth — moderate to very good hair growth,” Andrew Kaufman, MD, tells WebMD. Kaufman, a hair-transplant surgeon, is assistant professor of clinical dermatology at UCLA, and medical director of the Center for Dermatology Care, Thousand Oaks, Calif.
I use this product after shampoo/ conditioner/ leave in conditioner. I really love this product! The only two drawbacks are;1: it’s pricey, 2: it’s hard for me to wear twice a day , because I work in the sun ,and the top of my head burns. Although, I really love this product, and have seen the result first hand. I wish I would have known about it before I already started balding.
Also known as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and commonly prescribed at menopause, estrogen and progesterone pills and creams are probably the most common systemic form of treatment for androgenetic alopecia for women in menopause or whose estrogen and/or progesterone are lacking for other reasons.
While biotin is a type of vitamin that plays a functional role in hair growth, there are other vitamins that can help improve the overall health of your hair. Vitamin E is one such key vitamin that acts as an antioxidant and helps to reduce the oxidative stress on your scalp. This greatly affects hair growth, and this was proven by a study published in the Tropical Life Sciences Research journal (2). Another vitamin that is useful is vitamin C. It removes the dead cells build-up from the scalp and unclogs the hair follicles. This can improve hair growth as well (3). Vitamin C tablets can be added to a carrier oil and used to massage the scalp. Internal supplements of both these vitamins also help.

For some reason, my edges have been under seige. I’ve never had problems with them before. They have always been kinda thin but I ‘HAD’ them!!!! I have been using the product for about 5 months now. At month 3, I was completely ready to give up on this product. The package said it may take as long as 4 months to START noticing any kind of growth. At that point, I figured ‘What do I have to lose?’ So I gave it one more month. And sure enough, I started seeing my fuzz!!!!! So, of course I was excited. By the middle of month 4, it was thickening up and growing. I will say that at month 3, I started using Black Jamaican Castor Oil as well on my edges. I’d use 2 sprays of this topical…massage…then massage BJCO immediately after. Now I’m not sure if it was the solution that helped, the BJCO that brought me there, or both. All I know is, even if I have to use this duo for the rest of my life, I will!!! I am VERY happy with my results. I will continue to use both nightly for continued results. PS…for those of you who are discouraged because you’re not seeing any progress, give it time. It took me FOUR MONTHS to BEGIN noticing any sign this product is working.
Originally, the Derma Roller was just a tool for skin care, but a later study confirmed that if used on the scalp in conjunction with minoxidil, it can help regrow hair better than using minoxidil alone.
A bathroom covered with loose strands or an ever-scrawnier ponytail can be startling but doesn’t necessarily mean anything’s wrong. By age 50, half of women will complain of hair loss. “As we age, overall hair density changes and individual strands become finer,” says dermatologist Doris J. Day. But just because thinning is natural doesn’t mean you have to accept it. Here are 12 solutions to help you keep the hair out of your brush and on your head.

Side effects may include irritation of the scalp.
