Don’t overwash the hair, allow natural oils to produce. Choose a heated styling tool that has a choice of temperature and a hair protecting element. My Treat & Style tool available in Boots infuses Keratin as it straightens via the high street’s first capsule system.
Speaking of a new style: Don’t choose one that’s so high maintenance that it needs to be heat styled daily—the damage you’ll do with too much hot tool usage can leave strands damaged and fried, and breaking before it can grow to a certain length. Plus, thinner hair tends to break easier, so you want to avoid any extra damage-inducing practices at all costs. Make a conscious effort, too, to brush more gently, and use a moisturizing and reparative hair mask to hydrate hair and nourish the scalp—where hair gets most of its strength.
Some of our readers and subscribers prefer the liquid gel biotin supplements because they seem to digest easier. Other than your diet and supplements you can also use biotin topically as well. Look for biotin oil or biotin hair shampoo to apply to your hair topically.
I’ve tried like 4 different brands until i found that the best one for me. Now i’m 39 and I’ve been taking 5,000mcg of Biotin every day for years (10 000 was too much for me). My hair and nails grow SO much quicker. Hair has increased in the rate and are so long now. Dreams come true ?
Hi Ivyena. You can leave it on overnight under a shower cap if you wish, which will serve as a deeply-moisturising hair mask. However, I wouldn’t leave it on during the day. The oil will stain your clothes and can also make your hair look very greasy and unclean. I hope this helps 🙂
Initial use requires charging the cordless helmet for two hours. The convenience of the helmet being cordless means there are no location restrictions. Wear the helmet to do any number of activities. A full charge provides five to seven treatments. Each session lasts 20 minutes before the helmet turns itself off. You must use the helmet twice weekly in order to achieve results. After putting on the helmet, you simply push the blister-power button on the rear of the device to activate the lasers. Visible results should appear in 26 to 52 weeks. You then use the Theradome once weekly for maintenance purposes.
Hi Glo, I’d love to help with this but to be honest I don’t really know too much about hair growth of beards and side burns. Have you tried a quick Google to see what articles you can find on the internet?
Of course, if none of these treatments work, it’s not all bad news: Dr. McKee noted that balding men actually have higher dihydrotestosterone (a hormone formed from testosterone) levels than men who are not balding. So, feel free to take balding as a sign of manliness.
Hypothyroidism is a common issue taking place in millions of people, especially women. Hypothyroidism is a condition in which your body produces way less thyroid hormone than you need. Thyroid hormone is responsible for a myriad of functions including your heart rate, mood, metabolism and skin, hair and nail growth as well.
Persistent illness, drastic and excessive weight loss, and extreme physical labor can cause the body to get dehydrated and exhausted. This can make the hair follicles undernourished and weak, and cause rapid hair loss.

Have lots of water. Whatever you drink a day, increase it by a glass. It remains the best and most basic contribution to hydrating hair. And a balanced diet rich in all vitamins including D & E? Not just for glowing skin – it’ll boost shine in the hair.
Castor Oil works like magic. This even clears thin hair problem and makes it thick. This is the secret of many aged people in South India. Try this everyday for 15 days and you will be surprised by the results for sure.
Keranique Shampoo & Conditioner: Hair that is thinning, prone to breakage and split ends needs a shampoo and conditioner that is specifically formulated to fight those conditions. The Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo and Volumizing Keratin Conditioner work together to gently shampoo away build up and reinvigorate the scalp, then condition and penetrate every strand to thicken, strengthen and help repair the hair shaft, reducing frizz and breakage, mending split ends and restoring shine.
Hi Charity. It sounds like your hair needs some nourishment! All is not lost, though, coconut oil should soon sort you out. I’d recommend using coconut oil a few times a week, regular trims (to keep your hair healthy and from splitting, which will lead to it shortening) and finally the inversion method to stimulate hair growth. I hope this helps 🙂
Hair-loss prevention is often less of a focus than treating thinning or loss that is already advanced; but MODERN SALON’s exclusive HAIR+ research shows clients want to know their options before they start losing hair, and though consumers are concerned about hair loss, they’re not sure who to turn to for information. Of course, it should be you—their stylist—they go to first.
Hey there, dandruff and an unhealthy scalp could be contributing to your hair problems. I would start with trying to get rid of the dandruff, there are quite a few over-the-counter treatments or you could find a natural remedy (apple cider vinegar perhaps?) to help. It’s really important to maintain a healthy scalp so I would recommend doing this, cutting back on how many times you wash your hair as if you wash it more frequently it could make the problem worse. Try a little head massage every few days too, drink plenty of water and a healthy balanced diet with plenty of protein. It may take time, but hopefully, you will start to see an improvement – let me know how you get on!
No matter how many hair products, shampoos and conditioners we use; our hair keeps falling off. Sometimes we fear that a day will come when we all will go bald! This is because of the damaging lifestyle we lead now-a-days. Damaging because the way we are leading our life is taking a toll on our health. Drinking, smoking, eating fast foods, using a variety of cosmetics, treating our hair with chemical products and exposing them to heat treatments! Are we doing anything that is good for us?
