Diagnosis can include blood work to test for nutrient deficiencies, scalp examination (looking at patterns and shapes of hair loss, possibly a skin biopsy) and gathering medical, lifestyle and family information.
Recent research conducted by scientists in 2015 was successful in naturally growing hair in the laboratory. This seemingly promising discovery makes us believe that we’ve finally got a natural cure for the long haunted problem.
Alopecia often occurs in individuals who are relatively healthy; they may suffer from substantial emotional stress and poor nutrition, but the most evident symptom-or the symptom of greatest immediate concern to them-is the hair fall.
Just like proteins, your body also needs enough amounts of vitamins and minerals to restore and improve hair growth. Use a combination of your favorite fruits and vegetables to come up with a delicious juice cocktail for your hair. Here are a few juicing recipes for hair growth:
Eat hair-loss fighting power foods. Nutritional imbalances are often the cause for hair loss. Poor diet can lead to macronutrient (proteins, fats, carbohydrates) and micronutrient (vitamins and minerals) deficiencies which in turn can make your body unhealthy and cause hair loss. To support the health of your hair and your overall well-being, add some or all of the foods listed below to your diet:
Peppermint oil is moisturizing, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory. When applied to the scalp, peppermint oil moisturizes skin and soothes irritation caused by chemical, microbial, and environmental damage. Peppermint also increases blood flow and stimulates follicles to grow new hair at an accelerated rate. Try this recipe for a refreshing peppermint and jojoba scalp treatment.
This can help stimulate hair follicles. Allow the anti-hair loss shampoo to sit for several minutes prior to rinsing. Be sure to rinse thoroughly as this can leave hair looking and feeling greasy or oily.

Initially used to treat high blood pressure, minoxidil was the first medication approved by the FDA to treat male pattern baldness. By applying Rogaine (or a generic version) directly to the scalp twice a day, a man in the early stages of hair loss can often stimulate growth. The American Hair Loss Association points out that results of treatment with minoxidil are limited, but it still endorses using it in combination with other treatments or as an alternative if finasteride doesn’t work.
Hair Regeneration is another technique under stem cell therapy which is also a non-surgical, non-invasive method of treating baldness or hair loss. Basically, an adult’s stem cell that has wound-healing properties is injected to the scalp.

In our research and our conversations with experts, one name kept popping up repeatedly: Rogaine. As the first topical brand FDA-approved to help regrow hair (all the way back in 1988), Rogaine benefits from more than 20 years of clinical trials and consumer feedback. Rogaine was the first brand to offer a 5 percent minoxidil foam solution when it debuted Men’s Rogaine Unscented Foam in 2006, and virtually every treatment developed since (for both men and women) has been an imitation or derivation of that formula.
Thx Domen for the useful info. Curious to know why you didn’t cover laser therapy as offered by Advanced Hair Studio? Or doesn’t the laser treatment combined with sawpalmtto tabs and minoxodil work? If it does work and you complete the 6 month program, will the growth be reversed if I stop using the products?

Hi Domen, an update: I find hair regrowth at the widows peak edges hairline. Surprisingly o contradictorily no difference in the vertex or top or crown. Though my widows peak had been thinning since just last year – so is that why finestride has been effective there and not elsewhere?
Can all these things (aloe vera, different oils, onion, amla, reetha, shikakai, methi, tulsi, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic and vitamin r capsule) be mixed into one thick paste and applied daily?
To use: In a blender, combine 1/2 avocado, 2 Tbsp argan oil, 10 drops of rosemary essential oil, and 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and pulse together. Hair is primarily made up of protein. What’s the better way to grow hair than to provide it with extra protein,in fact, one of the best proteins- the egg white. What you need to do is take one or two eggs and massage your scalp with the liquids in it. Let it sit there for an hour, preferably covered with a shower cap. Then wash it off with a mild shampoo and water. You even make an egg mask for your hair to give it extra shine and strength.

The comment about Dutasteride causing more side effects is not correct. All studies performed to this date actually sight that Dutasteride has lower side effects. Especially in regards to decreases in sex drive. The only time Dutasteride has been shown to have greater side effects is when the dosage of Finasteride was well below the recommended dosage of 1mg. In comparison 500mcg of Dutasteride has been shown to be more effective than 2.5mg of Finasteride and 1mg has shown to be more effective than 5mg of Finasteride, the dose used to treat BPH. The research has clearly shown that Dutasteride reduces serum DHT levels much faster and has much higher success rates.
Extract the juice of one onion by grating it and then strain it. Apply the juice directly onto the scalp. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, and then wash it off. Finally, shampoo your hair. Repeat this procedure two or three times a week for several weeks.
Yes. Doctors use the Savin scale. It ranges from normal hair density to a bald crown, which is rare. The scale helps document female pattern baldness, a condition your doctor might call androgenic alopecia. You probably know it as male pattern baldness, but it affects about 30 million American women. Experts think genes and aging play a role, along with the hormonal changes of menopause. Your hair could thin all over, with the greatest loss along the center of the scalp.
The amount of hair regrowth is different for each person. Not everyone will respond to minoxidil topical solution 5%. The response to minoxidil topical solution 5% cannot be predicted. It is unlikely anyone will be able to grow back all their hair.
I have DHT levels at the bottom -end of the normal range, so low DHT, however I’m still going bald, so besides DHT levels it also depends greatly on the sensitivity of your hair follicles to DHT. If you have high or low levels of DHT finasteride should obviously still help you maintain your hair as the process remains the same either way.
I have always had fine, thin hair but just recently I’ve become very self-conscious about my scalp showing. I’m only 26 years old and thought this was not the age I should start balding! I’ve tried everything – Biotin, Viviscal, any type of hair growth supplement. Yes, these supplements supported hair growth but they did not support hair re-growth like Rogaine did. I’ve been using Rogaine religiously for three months now and I swear by it. I think the pictures do this product justice. Thanks Rogaine!
3. Regulate Hormones – Many people who begin losing their hair early or without explanation find they have a hormonal imbalance. If you have other hormonal symptoms, look into natural supplements for hormone regulation and foods that promote healthy hormone levels.
Because there’s no cure for baldness (yet), there’s no hair loss treatment that’s going to leave you totally satisfied. That said, there are three FDA-approved treatments — minoxidil, finasteride, and lasers — that can stave off hair loss for the foreseeable future. Use them together for best results.
