It uses Caffeine to stimulate your hair follicles and improve the texture and health of your hair. It also contains Ketoconazole, which is an anti-inflammatory molecule that has been shown to help prevent hair loss.
im 19 and I lost like 75% of my hair over a small period of 3 months, not in a pattern, thinning out all over. Im a very healthy individual but I have stress in my life like everyone else. Why the hell is this happening and how could I get it back?
Hair loss comes in different forms. Whether hair loss is caused by genetics or a traumatic life event, it can take a huge toll on one’s self-esteem. The vast amount of hair-loss products available can make it difficult to discern what works and what doesn’t. We poured over dozens of user and owner reviews and clinical studies to bring you a definitive list of the top hair-loss products on the market.
There are also two drugs on the market today that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat pattern baldness or thinning. The first one is minoxidil, commonly known commercially as Rogaine, and it can be used by both men and women. You may experience hair regrowth or a decreased rate of hair loss, but the growth is not permanent and will stop if you stop using it. Some common side effects may include severe scalp irritation, undesirable growth of facial hair, chest pain, rapid heart rate (tachycardia) and more.
After weeks of thorough testing and researching a long line of shampoo for hair loss and hair regrowth shampoos, we have determined that Shapiro MD is a quality and effective hair regrowth system that has been proven on countless occasions to block DHT, restore strength in the hair and to stimulate hair growth, repairing the hair growth cycle.
With a hair transplant, hair is removed from one part of the scalp and then implanted where you’re thinning. Tiny “follicular units” of two to four hairs are transplanted; this can be effective even for women with diffuse thinning and few areas of “donor hair.” In a survey of hair transplant surgeons led by dermatologist Walter Unger, MD, over half said that at least 40 percent of women with female pattern hair loss are candidates for surgery; many of those doctors believe that up to 80 percent of women with thinning hair can see successful results. ($3,000 to $15,000, depending on number of grafts and transplant sessions)
How does Minoxidil works ? – Minoxidil is a vasodilator. It enlarges blood vessels and works on the active hair follicles by increasing blood flow and, subsequently, nutrition to the weaker hair. Thus, Minoxidil only works on active hair follicles and not the dying or the dead ones. This preventive remedy prevents further hair fall and reduces the rate of ‘hair follicle miniaturization’ that causes the hair to weaken before dying of completely. The follicles enlarged by Minoxidil tend to remain in the growth phase for a longer period of time. Thus, Minoxidil hair loss cure acts as a “life support” for the dying hair.
During this procedure, your surgeon removes tiny plugs of skin, each containing a few hairs, from the back or sides of your scalp. He or she then implants the plugs into the bald sections of your scalp. You may be asked to take a hair loss medication before and after surgery to improve results.
Though different anecdotal reports are roaming around on the internet about how urine can treat Receding Hair, no such formal scientific studies show whether urine from animals is better or worse treatment than anything else in the market. Therefore, it’s up to you if you want to try it and see what will happen.
If you are in your early fifties, experiencing some form of loss of hair is to be expected. This isn’t a cause for great alarm, as it is simply how your body reacts to a change of level of hormones. Yes, you will probably see many strands of hair on your bathroom floor or the shower sink, but this does not mean that you are suffering from a dangerous illness. Hitting menopausal stage won’t make you go completely bald.
Using lukewarm and oil to massage your scalp from time to time is an excellent way to remedy any scalp infection that may cause hair loss. It will also treat dandruff, improve blood circulation and stimulate hair follicles. In order to maximize the effect of your massage, use a combination of coconut and almond oils.
Finasteride – Finasteride or Propecia is the single most effective drug to treat genetic pattern hair loss. It was initially developed to treat enlarged prostate in men. A side effect of this drug was reduced hair fall which turned out to be a boon for many patients. Note that finasteride is unsafe for use in pregnant women. Today, it is available in form of 1 to 5 milligram pills under several brand names; Proscar or Propecia being the most common. For treating baldness, even the 1 milligram dosage is adequate.
I have DHT levels at the bottom -end of the normal range, so low DHT, however I’m still going bald, so besides DHT levels it also depends greatly on the sensitivity of your hair follicles to DHT. If you have high or low levels of DHT finasteride should obviously still help you maintain your hair as the process remains the same either way.
Fortunately, Lipogaine has a hair loss treatment just for women. It consists of 2% Minoxidil – and Minoxidil is the only proven means to treat female hair loss. We also like the fact that Lipogaine also has a Sensitive Scalp product just for women, as it does for men.
In my own experience, my sex life remained exactly the same. There are a lot of other factors which contribute to a higher libido and better erections. (for example healthy food and limiting masturbation).
The general medical consensus around laser treatments — caps and combs alike — is that low-level laser light therapy stimulates the cells within the hair follicle. These devices may also increase cell metabolism to promote thicker and more durable hair shafts, something that neither minoxidil or finasteride can do. To use the HairMax Ultima, all you have to do is glide the device over your scalp slowly. Treatments should take about eight minutes, and you should do it three days per week for the best results.
Ginkgo biloba is an herb that can help strengthen the hair shaft, which discourages hair thinning. It also encourages blood flow and an antioxidant boost. As a standardized extract, you can try 40 to 80 milligrams three times daily. (4)
Apply the oil by lightly massaging it into your hair and scalp. If you are using coconut oil, do not try to melt the oil using a microwave, use your hands instead. Coconut oil does not need much heat to melt. Repeat at least twice a week for a minimum of two months to see some results.
Like any product, individual results will vary. Manufacturers recommend using the Shapiro MD Shampoo and Conditioner on a regular, consistent basis, applying the product(s) for at least 10 to 20 minutes before rinsing.
Thanks, Ed. I’m afraid if you want to keep your regrown hair you have to use these treatments indefinitely. Otherwise, you’ll lose all your “gains” and be back to the point as if you had never used them. It’s a commitment.
But be sure to read the Reviews of each of these products, especially User Reviews as they can be your valuable source of information as to whether a product is really effective and worth spending your money on.
Her hope is that the procedure (she has helped start a company named Rapunzel to develop it) will eventually become another lunchtime cosmetic treatment. Once a patient has had her cells harvested and cultured, they could be stored indefinitely; then, after giving her doctor a month’s notice (the time it takes to grow the million needed), she could pop in for injections. Costs would likely be on par with hair transplants, roughly $10,000 and up.
Continued usage of this treatment results to the prevention of further hair loss to as much as 90% of the overall patient it was tested on and promotes Hair Re-growth to approximately 50% of patients who are composed of Men and Women.
Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don’t know what to do. my hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should i do to regrow hair?
Thank you. This has been the most helpful article I have read! Very much appreciated! Last question (I won’t bug you with anymore after this) . . . I was tested by my doctor and came out perfectly healthy so it is either stress or MPB. My job is extremely stressful so it could be that but I have no way or knowing for sure. As such, do you think there is any harm on me taking finasteride even if it isn’t MPB and is just stress? I suppose if the medicine didn’t work, I would know it was stress and not MPB. Also, I assume this is something I would continue to take for life right?
Minoxidil (Rogaine). Minoxidil is an over-the-counter liquid or foam that you rub into your scalp twice a day to grow and to prevent further hair loss. It may be used by men and women. With this treatment, some people experience hair regrowth, a slower rate of hair loss or both. The effect peaks at 16 weeks and you need to keep applying the medication to retain benefits.
