Use gentle hair products. When you notice your hair is thinning, making the switch to all-natural, gentle hair products is a good idea. Many shampoos, conditioners, hair sprays and other products contain chemicals that are hard on the scalp and hair and can speed up hair loss and damage the hair that’s left.
For one, ketoconazole fights fungus on the scalp; fungus which inhibits hair growth and may cause hair loss. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that are good for scalp health. This article is COMPREHENSIVE and sticks to the tried and tested (read scientifically proven) treatment methods. For me, if you’re suffering from pattern baldness, then the best chance you have is the Big Three. That said, it is worth potentially trying other, more natural, treatments if your hair loss isn’t aggressive and if you have an aversion to medicated products. I’m not talking about snake oil here. There are some treatments out there that, while not a primary treatment mode, can help to at least arrest hair loss in milder cases. As always with hair loss it’s a question of probabilities. I don’t think I’ve come across a product that works 100% of the time for 100% of the people. But the best chance undoubtedly comes with the FDA approved products to date. Also loved the future pipeline chart. Fantastic view of what will (hopefully) be more effective treatments in the future.
It’ll take time, probably in near future you’d ask for these at your doctor’s office. However, this doesn’t mean there isn’t any effective hair loss treatment today. There is a permanent cure for this problem but it can be costly.

There are not clear guidelines on what’s the ‘best’ way to use Nizoral. But a good rule of thumb would be every other day. And at the very least, once per week. Apply it like you would any kind of shampoo, leave it on for 5 – 10 minutes, and thoroughly wash it off. Do everything you can it does not get into your eyes, trust me, I’m speaking from my experience.
Aloe Vera & Onion juice. Aloe Vera helps remove excess sebum, a substance secreted by hair glands that is linked to slower hair growth. It also helps increase blood circulation. Onion juice is rich in sulfur and stimulates hair follicles to promote faster hair growth.

In the past few years, medicine has made tremendous strides in the treatment of men’s hair loss. With the advent of 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors such as Propecia and the evolution of surgical hair restoration, for many, living with noticeable hair loss is no longer inevitable. For the first time in the history of mankind, it is now possible to stop or slow the progression of hair loss and to replace lost hair through surgery with completely natural results. However, with that said, the vast majority of hair loss treatments being marketed today are still nothing but “snake oils.”
Regardless of whether you are combating thin hair as a result of age or male pattern baldness or another type of illness, or if you simply want to increase and improve the health, strength, volume and thickness in your hair, then stop wasting time and money on hair loss products or expensive hair transplantation procedures that do not work.
Why you should avoid dyes: Synthetic hair dyes contain harsh chemicals such as ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, p-phenylenediamine, which can cause hair damage, brittleness and scalp irritation. Myth: There is a fast solution. With some medical issues there is a quick fix, says Kinsley. “A person goes on medicine and it’s all under control. With hair loss, it’s different. There is no one thing you can put on the scalp or take to fix the problem.”
When figuring out the best way to treat thinning hair, do not become discouraged if the methods you try fail. Instead, talk to your doctor about other options such as a hair transplant or laser hair treatments. You can also ask your stylist about pieces and wigs.
Boil a few dried leaves of rosemary in a glass of water for some time. After boiling, strain it to remove leaves. Use this water to rinse your hair. Rosemary works effectively against hair loss and promotes proper blood circulation.
